The end of the year is a time to reflect. We've heard it time and time again: 2020 is one for the record books. We all have different views and perspectives regarding the pandemic and it's ensuing drama. This blog is not about who's views are right or wrong, it's about focusing on the positive outcomes of the pandemic and finding gratitude for those blessings. While most of us would probably prefer not to think about this past year, we can't help but count all the reasons we have to be grateful here at Pike Systems.
RECOGNITION & RESPECT FOR FRONTLINE WORKERS
The pandemic has brought frontline workers and hidden heroes to the forefront of our consciousness - not only when they're at risk or in the line of fire, but at all times. With the increased visibility and attention, we have all developed a greater understanding and appreciation of the jobs and the people who undertake such efforts for our health, safety and overall well-being.
PROPER AND THOROUGH CLEANING & HAND WASHING
Understanding of and frequent adherence to proper hygiene and sanitation has become a huge new part of our daily consciousness. Something that we often took for granted (and sometimes got sloppy about) has now become a strong consideration in nearly everything to do. From not only a business perspective, but also from a mother's perspective, this gives me hope that we are well on the way to becoming more conscientious in this and other aspects of life.
FAMILY TIME
This year has reminded us to step back and reevaluate the time spent with those closest to us. From finding creative ways to entertain our children to spending less time on the hustle and bustle of running errands, we've rediscovered quality time with our nearest and dearest. Navigating concepts and situations we never dreamed we'd have to address has actually brought us closer together.
INNOVATION & INGENUITY
Watching companies step up to solve complex problems just to stay in business has been incredibly restorative to my spirit. The collaborations and adaptations have renewed my faith in our ability to get through this, together. Innovating and setting a new course forward has been the reigning trend of 2020, and creative solutions to the unimagined challenges have continued to impress me: from the multitude of outdoor dining options, to the technological developments that have made working from home possible across so many industries.
We know this past year has been incredibly difficult, but together we will get through the COVID-19 pandemic. We are committed to keeping the health and safety of your staff and building occupants the top priority in the new year, and we look forward to 2021 and the hope that it brings.
